Description

The pathophysiology of depression goes far beyond the neurotransmitters and seems to involve a wide range of causes and processes that undergo metabolic changes (absolute or relative deficiencies in nutrients such as essential fatty acids and vitamins) and chronic inflammatory phenomena of low intensity.

The development of Primus, was based on the importance of an essential component: Ω -3 fatty acids, in particular those derived from the sea, where there is DHA and EPA in quantities which you cannot get from dietary sources of terrestrial origin, where there are polyunsaturated fatty acids, but in which the major component is that Ω -6 (linoleic acid) and to a lesser extent linolenic acid (Ω -3 “Earth”, but whose metabolized into DHA and EPA is greatly reduced in humans).

Omega-3 fatty acids

DHA: maintaining the structural integrity of the neurons (neuroprotective effect), membrane stability Enhancer and the fluidity of neurotransmission.
EPA: anti-inflammatory effect.

Magnesium: receivers NMDA activity Modulator, regulation of neuronal hyperexcitability and with functional activation functions. Magnesium is an essential trace element and the replacement of the levels in case of lack of functional activation allows organism.

Folic Acid: in methylation processes inside the cell needed for the synthesis of neurotransmitters, and membrane phospholipids.

Vitamin B12: enhances the effect of folic acid and reduces the levels of homocysteine.

Vitamin E: broad spectrum Antioxidant, contributing to greater resistance from the neurons to a set of cellular oxidative processes, many of them the result of local pro-inflammatory effects.
